Austrian engineered timber systems supplier and sawmiller MM-Holz/Kaufmann emphasised to visitors how its products worked as part of a system.
Three cut-away models demonstrated how its cross-laminated timber, glulam, laminated wood panels and solid timber products interacted with insulation, battens and cladding.
“We want to give more advice on the whole structure, even if we only supply the structural elements,” said MM Holz’s Bernd Gusinde.
Its passive house model boasted a wall U-value of 0.11W/m²K.
Meanwhile, the company is also trialling its Rib panels, a more cost-effective and efficient flooring system using glulam beams instead of continuous CLT. It has been used on Eurban’s Oldfield School project.
