Laminated Wood Ltd’s move to new premises has helped the company to handle increasing interest in glulam beams.
According to managing director John Mallinckrodt, the new premises near Stroud, Gloucestershire have allowed the firm to handle longer beams, up to 27m in length, and install extra machinery to offer added-value goods as part of its product portfolio.
The new premises have also allowed Laminated Wood to fight off competition in an increasingly competitive market, he said.
“Lots of people are trying to get a slice of the market,” said Mr Mallinckrodt. “But we have an advantage of being able to keep stock in the UK, which makes us very efficient.”
