Somerset-based MH Joinery Products has significantly reduced its energy consumption thanks to a new wood waste extraction system designed and commissioned by Dust Pollution Systems.
The new system, part of the complete overhaul of MH Joinery’s newly configured manufacturing plant, also supplies heat from waste material due to the installation of a new wood-fired plant, which, together with a chipper, enables waste and off-cuts to be utilised.
MH Joinery, which makes high-end windows, casements and staircases for builders and developers, had consolidated its manufacturing operations by purchasing a site next to its existing facility. With the site needing a complete overhaul, MH Joinery took the opportunity to lay out the new facility with its current and future needs – as well as ensuring that its wood waste extraction system would meet and exceed current requirements.
“The process air flow designed by Dust Pollutions Systems ensures that a pressure is maintained that matches input with extraction,” said MH Joinery. “This guarantees that all parts of the staircase factory experience minimal air speed, reducing air-born dust for a better finish quality.”
