Timber frame specialist Touchwood had a brand new project to flag up at the show.
The Woodhouse Project is an architect-designed home built to the principles of the German PassivHaus standard.
“It’s based on a well-insulated I-joist panel construction, with 300mm of Warmcell insulation in the walls,” said Touchwood’s Reuben Wilkinson. “It is also highly airtight, using mechanical ventilation, with the panels taped and bonded to the window and door frames and services penetrating the external envelope passing through specially-made metal plates to minimise air leakage.”
