When the company, which is based in Alcester, Warwickshire, won a large contract for vehicle panels in March 2004, it realised it would need to boost its level of automation to meet increased production demand.

An AXYZ 4010 series CNC router with a 3048x1524mm process area was chosen as it gave Rembitt the capability to machine oversize 10×5 sheets of material which would grow margins by increasing the yield per sheet.

Prior to the purchase, Rembitt used hand-held routers and templates to produce many of its products. CNC production has enabled it to improve the quality and consistency of components and reduce waste levels. The company has also been able to develop its product range and take on complex shaped components that would previously have been too time-consuming.

Eighteen months later, Rembitt turned to AXYZ Automation again because production demand had its first machine running on a two-shift basis virtually seven days a week.

An AXYX 6010 series machine with a 3048x2095mm process area was installed, plus an automatic toolchanger which gives the company more flexibilty on more complex jobs.

Prices for the AXYZ 4000 series range from £30,000-40,000 and for the 6000 series from £38,000-50,000.
