Decorative timber products manufacturer Richard Burbidge Ltd has reported significant savings since the introduction of a new protective packaging system.
The Oswestry-based company replaced its existing packaging process because it was time-consuming and labour intensive.
Working closely with distributor Macfarlane Telford, Burbidge decided to install a fully-automated end of line system using Kettering-based Sealed Air Ltd’s Aircap bubble wrap.
Burbidge warehouse manager Mike Ferguson said: “Before we introduced the new system we used corrugated card and shrink wrap. However, protecting the smaller packages effectively posed a real problem as it was difficult to get the shrink-wrap tight.”
