“It’s about time timber had its own dedicated, stand-alone trade event and we are delighted to be supporting this inaugural show,” said Timbmet managing director Wendy Trott, prior to the show.
And visitor footfall on the company’s impressive stand demonstrated that its decision to exhibit was “definitely the right one”, according to marketing director Liz Richards.
“We had thought the stand might be over-manned but we’ve had so many visitors that it’s been non-stop,” she said.
She added that Timbmet’s “interactive” stand had really drawn people in and that demonstrations of iPack, the company’s online ordering facility, had proved popular.
The “huge raft of products” on the stand included brise soleil and highly decorative handrails, which “show off Timbmet’s manufacturing capabilities”, and its new Lobo vinyl plank flooring range. The flooring is available in a range of finishes, from stonewashed oak through to balsa beech and walnut western.
Red Grandis, the FSC Pure plantation-grown red hardwood available in the UK exclusively through Timbmet, also had a major presence on the stand.
“It’s a clear, very durable, easily worked timber and one of the great things about it is that it takes stains very well,” said Ms Richards. “It’s rolling out pretty rapidly, particularly through iPack, and people using it love it.”
