CBR Engineering, the treatment plant manufacturer and maintenance specialist, says the addition of environmental and health and safety standard accreditation to its quality standard approval will help accelerate its expansion.
Castleford-based CBR achieved the ISO 9001:2008 standard two years ago, and in November was also UKAS-accredited to the ISO 14001:2004 environmental and OHSAS 18001:2007 health and safety standard. It claims to be one of “only a handful” of UK companies of its size to hold all three.
“We’re very proud to have obtained the three accreditations,” said technical director Ian Allatt. “It verifies our commitment to quality, customer-driven services.”
The company sees its accreditation giving its growth plans an added boost. In particular it is targeting overseas markets, which currently account for 15% of turnover.
“We’re receiving increasing enquiries from new [markets] around the world and planned advertising and media campaigns will help us further capitalise on new opportunities,” said export manager Matt Smith.
CBR employs 25 people on its 1.2-acre site where it also manufactures technology for the power and gas industries.
