Timber Expo received the thumbs-up from the UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA).

“I love the show from the point of bringing the industry together. It’s great to see so much focus in one place,” said membership manager Robert Davis. “I also like the size of the show; people can get around it easily.”

Mr Davis was also pleased with the type and number of visitors to the stand, which included 10-15 architects on Wednesday morning alone.

As well as conveying the benefits of timber frame and the UKTFA’s Site Safe initiative, Mr Davis was also drawing visitors’ attention to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the UKTFA and the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA) on September 14. The MoU aims to “promote and support effective communication” between the two organisations. It complements the work the CFOA is doing to create an online national notification system which will centralise UKTFA members’ live projects. At present, members deal with the fire brigade local to the construction site.

Like other Timber Expo exhibitors, the UKTFA was already looking to next year.

“It’s been a great start,” said Mr Davis. “I think it will grow. It deserves to be a premier event.”
