Administrative receivers appointed to woodworking machinery company Wadkin report a high level of interest in the business.

Ernst & Young’s William Tacon said that several potential bidders had been shown around Wadkin’s Leicester site.

‘There has been a lot of response to our adverts and a good number of people have visited the factory. It is very difficult to say if this will crystallise down into actual offers and then to a signed contract, but it is the best possible starting point to move forward to a sale,’ he added.

Mr Tacon said that the support of customers had been ‘fantastic’ and that Wadkin was working on fulfilling existing orders and taking sales enquiries.
