Members of the Wood Machinery Suppliers’ Association (WMSA) have had a major presence at two woodworking exhibitions this month.

The attendances were part of the association’s international trade show programme, and participants returned with both orders and solid enquiries.

At WoodmacAsia Singapore on September 4-7 the WMSA exhibited together with three member companies – JJ Smith & Co, Titman Tip Tools Ltd and Licom Systems Ltd.

WMSA technical director Tony Kaye said: ‘With visitors from across South-east Asia, many of whom were keen to do business at the fair, WoodmacAsia lived up to its reputation as the premier wood machinery event in the region. Orders and solid enquiries for UK equipment were very evident.’

Also present from the UK were Doug Shopland, WMSA chairman and managing director of Stenner Ltd on the exhibition stand of his company’s agent for the region, and Calder Wilkinson AIM Ltd, represented by Joe Dowling and Gareth Tomlinson.

The next event was Woodworking Ireland in Dublin from September 13-15.

Here the joint venture WMSA stand included Biele UK Ltd, Cades Ltd, P&J Dust Extraction Ltd, Rotherwood Ltd and TM Service & Spares Ltd.

The exhibition attracted 4,300 people and Mr Kaye said: ‘It proved very successful for our members, many of whom had their own stands and secured sizeable orders.’
