The breather membranes and insulation specialist has unveiled three timber cladding systems, which will be supplied through its new exterior building products division.
A Proctor has spent more than three years researching the market and has turned to Canada, Scotland and England for its three solutions.
“The timber cladding market has grown 16% per year and that is projected to continue for the next couple of years,” said Duncan Kirkwood, business manager of the new division.
“Most building product materials are only running at 2-3% growth per year. And because of enviromental issues we’re finding people are looking at renewable materials, so timber is ideal.”
Proctor has joined forces with Canadian company Maibec to provide its western Canadian spruce cladding, which carries a 50-year warranty against fungal decay and 18 years on the factory painted finish.
A Proctor has also partnered with Bryceland Total Timber Solutions, of Cumbernauld, for western red cedar and Siberian larch cladding. All the timber products supplied through Bryceland are certified or sourced from well managed forests.
A range of Osmose Royale-treated coloured cladding will also be offered.
Mr Kirkwood said Proctor would eventually be stocking all the products, and was currently awaiting the first containers from Maibec.
“Our route to market is through architects and specifiers,” he added.
