Accsys appoints group manufacturing and projects director

Mr Cox joins Accsys from Coats plc, a market leader in the manufacture and supply of high-quality sewing thread and zippers for use, amongst others, in the ready-made garment and footwear industries. Coming from a global company with presence in over 100 countries and manufacturing operations in over 40, he is highly experienced in overseeing multi-national operations and sites.

Mr Cox joined Coats in 2000 spending time working in countries such as Bangladesh, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and India, rising to the position of group manufacturing director.  He brings a wealth of experience in manufacturing transformation, strategy and ramp-up.

“This newly created role is central to our ambitious growth plans to expand capacity and improve our operational offering to meet the significant market demand for our products,” said Rob Harris, Accsys CEO. “We have recently expanded our Arnhem, Netherlands site, added a new Accoya Color production facility in Wales and, this time next year, we plan to bring our first US manufacturing site online. Stephen’s expertise and experience will be major assets in helping us support these sites, delight our customers and achieve our goals over the coming 12 months and beyond.”

Accsys’ site managing directors, global engineering and PMO, IT, and project procurement teams will all report directly to Mr Cox.

In other recruitment news from Accsys, Darrin Andrews has joined the company as sales manager, UK and Nordics.

Mr Andrews brings 30 years’ experience working in building products specification. He has extensive knowledge of the windows and doors market - one of the most popular applications of Accoya in the UK – having worked with several Danish composite window and door manufacturers as well as nine years with Velux Windows.

Mr Andrews spent the last 10 years working for leading internal partitioning and raised access flooring manufacturers. In his new role he will be expanding Accsys’ UK architectural education activity as well as being responsible for sales in the Nordic countries. He will be using his knowledge and experience to introduce more architects and designers to the durability, reliability and sustainability benefits of Accoya across multiple applications.
