“The industry is entering a pivotal moment, with a renewed focus on timber in construction and the recent government endorsement of the TiC (Timber in Construction Roadmap) providing an unprecedented opportunity for growth,” said Mr Carpenter.
“My passion has always been to expand and strengthen the timber industry for the benefit of all STA members, and I firmly believe that the TiC represents a game-changing opportunity. As an industry, we must seize this moment and drive it forward with absolute commitment.
“To ensure that TiC is successfully delivered and reaches its full potential, I hope to dedicate myself entirely to this mission,” continued Mr Carpenter. “This initiative will require additional attention, and I believe stepping away from my role as CEO is the right decision to prioritise what is best for the industry’s future. I now need to work with my timber industry partners to understand how best I can add value in delivering the roadmap and driving it into the UK construction sector.
“This is a significant and ambitious endeavour – one that will shape the growth of our industry for years to come. If things go as I plan, I look forward to working closely with all STA members and the wider timber industry in this next chapter to make it a resounding success.”
