The Association Technique Internationale des Bois Tropicaux (ATIBT) is holding a series of events in Shanghai on September 19-23.

Around 100 producers from the tropics and other regions of the world are expected at the event which starts with factory visits on September 19.

The following day there will be a visit to a plywood factory and the industrial port of Zhang Jia Gang, the largest Chinese port for timber imports.

A further factory visit on September 21 will be followed by two days of debates themed “discovering the current and future Asian market for wood products”.

Topics for discussion will include Asia’s need and supply sources of raw materials, the local market and its capacity to export manufactured goods, and Asia’s sensitivity and demands for legal and sustainable production material.
