Atkinson & Kirby has found fame on the small screen, supplying an engineered floor for a project home featured in Channel 5’s Build a New Life in the Country documentary series.
The two-year project, to convert an 18th-century windmill into a plush family home in the Lancashire countryside, required a floor with a modern matt finish, and be suitable for use over underfloor heating.
The client chose Atkinson & Kirby’s Contract Click Range Brushed & UV Oiled Oak Plank, which was used over 135m². Featuring a 4mm hardwood wear layer, the flooring was installed over Quicktherm underlay, which is designed especially for use with underfloor heating.
Each area was also finished with co-ordinating Atkinson & Kirby solid white oak twin end caps.
