Two planned biomass power stations in Western Australia’s Great Southern region would provide significant environmental benefits for local communitites, according to a private forestry development committee.
Timber 20-20 says Beacons Consulting International’s A$150m plan to run the biomass plants in Albany, fuelled by residue from bluegum tree plantations, will produce a potash waste product which can be used as fertiliser on vineyards or crops.
