Amino glue and resins producer BASF intends to increase capacities at its site in Ludwigshafen, Germany to meet future demand from the European woodworking indsutry.

With investment in a new production line together with ongoing process optimisation, the capacity for amino glues and resins will be increased by 250,000 tonnes per year by the end of 2004.

A precondition for the expansion was the increase of formaldehyde capacity in two existing plants in Ludwigshafen by 50,000 tonnes a year through process elimination.
