Baufritz (UK) Ltd’s first build in the UK has been crowned Best Timber Frame Home at the Homebuilding & Renovating Awards 2007.
The Cornwall home was specifically designed to the requirements of owners Andrew and Alison Nicholls and is the first carbon positive house in the UK, according to Baufritz.
Jason Orme, judge and editor of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, said that the panel had awarded the build the award as it had “displayed significant progress in the field of timber frame homebuilding” and featured “exceptional eco credentials”.
“This a wonderful endorsement for us,” said Baufritz managing director Oliver Rehm.
“We have received very positive feedback about this house from customers and industry experts and we are looking forward to building many more award-winning homes in the UK in the coming years.”
The house also features the latest energy technologies, including a wood-fuelled heating, solar panels and a bore-hole to provide spring water.
