Biko-Lat, the Valmiera-based Latvian group of companies has started fencing production and testing a state-of-the-art door and window manufacturing facility.
The group, which has just celebrated its 10th anniversary, produces total of 100,000m3 of timber a year.
It’s new venture in fencing will make 80,000 European-style fencing panels with posts annually, plus a range of garden furniture including tables, benches and storage boxes.
The door and window factory was relocated from its original site in Iceland and is designed for one-off bespoke production through to mass production of solid doors and windows. The factory includes a priming, painting and finishing line.
Biko-Lat, which opened a UK office in January this year, employs 250 people in the Valmiera region and has offices in Riga.
Its main export markets are the UK, Iceland, the Netherlands and Sweden.
