A fire at a Wiltshire architectural joinery and furniture maker has caused extensive smoke damage and disrupted production.
An electrical fault is thought to have caused the blaze at architectural joinery and furniture maker Falcon Interiors of Melksham.
Fire fighters, who entered the building wearing breathing apparatus, described the interior as heavily smoke logged.
Paul Mansell, managing director of Falcon Interiors, told TTJ: “It happened on Friday night [July 11]. There is damage to a bench area and the screen between this area and the machine shop. The major damage is really through smoke.”
He said he was unable to estimate the cost of the damage until the company’s loss adjuster had visited the scene.
However, the impact of the fire had, said Mr Mansell, been limited: “It has slowed our production down, but our aim is to recover quickly. The guys are being very positive and, hopefully, with a lot of the repairs done at the weekend, we should be back to full production within the week.”
Falcon Interiors employs 46 people and manufactures architectural joinery and kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture.
