Around 100 jobs have been saved at wrapped MDF mouldings and cabinet door manufacturer BLP following a management buy-out from administrators.
Managing director Bridie Warner-Adsetts and finance director Andrew Thorpe secured external equity and debt funding from South Yorkshire Investment Fund and Centric Commercial Finance to finance the deal.
The Doncaster-based company, which fell into administration after incurring significant losses due to the housing downturn, will now trade as BLP Furniture Components Ltd.
“This deal is an important one for the region and also for UK manufacturing generally, as it secures a long-standing and well-regarded business employing over 100 skilled workers in Doncaster,” said Ms Warner-Adsetts.
