The news was announced by BMF chairman Terry Parker at the BMF Members’ Day on October 9.
The BMF had been searching for a new base as part of its wide-ranging reorganisation. It had identified the Midlands at the best location for its membership and sold the former HQ in London’s Soho Square.
The relocation to Elliott Court, secured on a 999-year lease, will also improve the federation’s finances by up to £100,000.
“The move to the West Midlands gives the BMF an opportunity to refocus our activities and re-energise our role as a trade association,” said managing director John Newcomb. Elliott Court contains several meeting rooms that can be used for training, small conferences and supplier days.
The BMF is retaining a London presence with a small office at the Building Centre for staff attending meetings in London or involved in lobbying work.
