Brazilian exports of timber products picked up by 24% in July from US$182m to US$227m, according to ITTO’s latest market report.
The rise follows a decline in June, when 44,600m3 of tropical sawn exports were recorded. July’s figure was 900m³ higher, worth US$21.1m, representing a 1.8% growth in volume and 11.6% in value.
Pine sawn timber exports grew 20% in July to 72,500m³, worth US$17m.
Exports of tropical plywood continued to fall, from 9,500m³ in June to 8,800m³ in July.
Pine plywood volumes also decreased 4.5% to 80,000m³, though the value of overall exports jumped 39%.
