Brazil’s exports fall 9.2%

Brazilian tropical sawnwood export volumes from January to April were 9.2% lower than the same period last year.

According to the ITTO's latest Tropical Timber Market Report, the volume this year was 101,335m3 compared with 110,670m3 last year. The value fell by 2.4%.

The main markets by value were France (14%), US (13%), China (12%), Netherlands (10%) and India (9.5%).

The state of Pará accounted for 40.6% of tropical sawnwood exports.
