Developers of a major care facility in East Kilbride are using a modular timber frame system with YBS Breather Foil-FR to comply with Part J of the Building Regulations (Scotland).
The project, by GT Buildings Scotland Ltd, represents the first UK commercial use of the 2.62m wide version of YBS Breather Foil-FR, which is designed to meet new U-values and provide a breather membrane.
Yorkshire-based YBS Insulation says its new product is fire retardant with the foil face conforming to Class 1 fire rating and has Wimlas/BRE certification. It claims to offer a U-value of below 0.30W/m2K.
