The addition of C24 to BSW’s easi range is significant as C24 material has until now been limited to imported wood and UK sawmillers have concentrated their construction wood efforts on C16 product.
C24 grading has taking place at BSW’s Fort William mill by using X-ray technology which detects internal defects, as well as knots visible at the surface. BSW’s C24 volumes will start at a low base but as demand grows, it will use its Dalbeattie and Fort William mills to increase production.
