With timber sales rising within the Buildbase Group the company has decided to invest in more training for its staff via SCA Timber‘s “Timber Champion” courses.
Buildbase’ Midlands regional director Stephen Thompstone said he wanted staff to be able to offer the right timber for the right job, and added: “Knowledge of the material and its origins enables them to confidently tackle questions and to give good advice, encouraging customers to come back for more.”
Following the training of its first groups, Buildbase has entered a further set for the Institute of Wood Science Timber Studies Award through the SCA Timber scheme.
They will start their course in the autumn, based at the George Sykes Ltd education and training centre at Atherstone, Warwickshire.
