Nearly 1,000 architects, engineers and builders from southern California attended the third Wood Solutions Fair at Long Beach Convention Centre.
The one-day event, designed to educate building professionals about wood products in construction, is one of four fairs being held in the US this year.
The Southern Pine Council (SPC) and other industry groups ran seminars, as well as answering questions and distributing wood design literature.
All 300 copies of SPC’s new lumber library CD were distributed within the first two hours of the fair.
A deck design course run by the Southern Forest Products Association attracted about 200 people in morning and afternoon sessions, covering key decking issues.
The next Wood Solutions Fair is in Minneapolis on December 1.
