Norbord‘s Caberwood MDF has been used to transform one of the main buildings used during the Glasgow International Festival of Contemporary Visual Art (Gi2008).
The Local at SWG3 was given a “complete artistic transformation” ahead of Gi2008, with Caberwood used to create a sculptural ceiling to complement other internal elements created for the festival.
Designed by architect Toby Paterson, who is also undertaking work for a public art project in London using Finnforest‘s Kerto laminated veneer lumber, the ceiling utilised 40 sheets of 12mm Caberwood. The ceiling was also his exhibit at Gi2008.
“I chose Norbord’s Caberwood MDF because of its versatility, low weight and ability to be painted,” said Mr Paterson.
