Pressure-treated timber specialist Calders & Grandidge is looking to the future with a £240,000 investment in three new MAN trucks.
The Boston-based company had added the TGX 24.440 6×2 Midlift Lite Tractors in a move designed to help it better meet the future needs of customers.
The vehicles have a combined increased loading capacity of 42,000kg compared to the older trucks and an output of 12,400cc – 6,030cc more than previously.
MAN’s Euro 5 engines, featuring exhaust gas recirculation and selective catalytic reduction, will reduce emissions by 33%.
Calders & Grandidge said this means the trucks will provide a stronger performance through increased efficiency and improved reliability, as well as reduced maintenance.
“The increased delivery capability means that more products can be delivered faster and more efficiently than ever before, and all in a more environmentally-friendly manner,” it said.
Calders & Grandidge’s core products include poles, fencing, gates and railway sleepers.
