Canada Wood UK and the High Commission of Canada are organising two seminars, in Manchester and London, where UK and Canadian experts in timber and engineered wood products will give presentations.
Avi Friedman, co-founder of the Affordable Homes Programme at the McGill School of Architecture, will present “Thinking outside the box on homes and communities: The Québec experience”.
Martin Stebenne, of BSW Alouette, and TimberSolve’s Luke Whale will discuss “The house as a system for modern methods of construction”.
Other subjects being covered include “Western red cedar – distinctive designs”, “Green by design” and “The fire performance of multi-storey timber frame buildings”.
The Manchester seminar will be held at the Radisson SAS Hotel on November 20, while Canada House in Trafalgar Square will host the November 22 event.
