The company is planning a joint venture with a French company and targeting a minimum goal of 50,000ft2 of home sales in France alone from 2008 onward. It could also look for similar partnerships in Belgium and Switzerland.
MSH is also benefiting from the strength of European currencies against the Canadian and US dollars. Potential orders now represent around 80,000ft2 of housing, and the company expects to double this amount in estimates before the second half of 2007.
“Our move to sell homes in France is part of a long-term strategy we are developing in order to spread our sales market to other countries in Europe,” said MSH managing director Alain Ghiai. “We hope to close our first deal in France in the next three months.”
