Mr Carling has more than 30 years’ experience in the machine tool industry and almost 20 years working specifically as a sales engineer for manufacturers of grinding centres.
In his new role he will develop sales in both the wood and metal-cutting industries.
Vollmer UK’s managing director, Mr Peter Allen, said the company’s sales had grown significantly over the past two or three years.
