The Performance Window Group’s (PWG) takeover of Cornwall-based window and door manufacturer Clearwood UK has helped facilitate the company’s best 12 months in its history.

Sales of Clearwood UK’s core products, including the innovation and heritage door and window ranges, have increased by 20% since November 2007, while employee numbers have grown by 10 to 36.

Managing director Treve Temby said the acquisition by PWG was one of the key drivers for the growth in business.

“The result is that we have not only been able to progress and increase sales through what has been an increasingly difficult time for the construction industry given the slowing of the market, but bring new products to market and provide our customers with enhanced levels of service,” said Mr Temby.

“We are now growing employee numbers and as our reputation and brand increases, are securing significant contracts not just in the south-west but around the UK, and are confident that 2009 will be an even better year for us.”

PWG chairman Roy Wakeman said he was delighted with Clearwood UK’s performance in the last year, adding he was looking forward to Clearwood UK building its profile further.
