COFORD, the Dublin-based National Council for Forest Research and Development, is to hold four biomass workshops in the next month.
“From forest to gate” will look at the basics of woodfuel; supply and demand issues; harvesting methods for thinnings, logging residues and stumps; and the transportation, delivery and storage of wood for fuel.
It will be held at the Roganstown Golf and Country Club in Co Dublin and the Killarney Plaza Hotel, Killarney on August 25 and September 15 respectively.
“From gate to grate” will look at the production of wood pellets; boiler types; ensuring burning efficiencies; the cost of biomass installations; and the planning involved in setting them up.
It will be held at the Roganstown Golf and Country Club on August 26 and at the Killarney Plaza Hotel on September 16.
