A four-bed demonstration home in Madison, Wisconsin, which showcases the latest in wood technology has attracted more than 3,000 visitors since opening nearly two years ago.

The 2,300ft2 house, constructed at the Forest Products Laboratory (FPL), run by the US Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service, also demonstrates building techniques for controlling moisture.

FPL and wood industry groups have used the home for hosting meetings of builders, truss manufacturers, architects, journalists and students, while researchers also continue to monitor the performance of the materials used in its construction.
