A developer was so impressed with Finnforest’s SoundBar floor solution he has specified it for his next three developments.
PJS Developments originally planned to use a beam and block floor for his apartment scheme in Barnsley, but following a recommendation from a local builders’ merchant to try Finnjoists, the company progressed on to the SoundBar system developed by Finnforest and Lafarge Gyvlon.
The system comprises Finnjoists, Finnforest’s SoundBar board and a Lafarge Gyvlon screed. Finnforest claims SoundBar exceeds Part E of the Building Regulations by 5dB for airborne sound and 10dB for transmission sound in residential compartment floors.
“It took one day to put in the joists and floor decking, and another day for the SoundBar acoustic board and screed to be poured,” said Paul Smith of PJS. “I have instructed my architect to include SoundBar in each of the next three developments I will be building. Not only will it save me time, but also materials, equating to significant capital savings.”
