Donaldson Timber Engineering’s newest roof truss manufacturing plant at Andover, Hampshire started production this week.
The plant, the company’s sixth UK manufacturing facility, represents an investment in excess of £1.2m and will service the south-west. It is the latest step in Donaldson’s long-term strategic expansion programme.
Output will be 2,000 truss rafters per week, with Donaldson’s existing UK production facilities producing 17,000 weekly.
Managing director George Watson said: ‘Andover was a geographical gap in our service. Our two other plants in the south found it difficult to cover that area.’
He said Hampshire was not well served by fabricators but now the company could offer builders a logistically placed, economic and efficient service.
