Ireland’s finance minister Brian Cowen dropped in at Donaldson Timber Engineering‘s 20,000ft2 Mountmellick manufacturing facility while on a recent visit to the area.
The factory – Donaldson’s first in Ireland – has the capacity to manufacture up to 3000 roof trusses a week, all to IS 193 standards.
Mr Cowen said it was good to see new manufacturing companies using modern technology to support quality construction within Ireland’s growing house building industry.
Donaldson Timber Engineering Ireland’s general manager Brendan Flanagan said the company had exceeded its sales targets by 30% since opening in March this year.
He added: “The increasing professionalism of the Irish construction industry means there will be a sustained demand for the type of service that our parent company has become renowned for in the UK.”
