Dubai Woodshow is set to be the “best platform for wood business” in the Middle East, according to organisers.

The third instalment of the wood and woodworking machinery show is to take place at the Dubai Airport Expo on February 5-7, with around 120 international exhibitors expected to attend.

Around US$50m-worth of business was agreed at the 2007 show according to the organiser, with companies from all walks of the wood-based industries in attendance.

“Woodshow 2008, the only specialised event for the wood and wood machinery industry in the Emirates, will provide manufacturers and suppliers with a global platform to display the latest wood technology to an increasingly buying audience,” said Gianni Ghizzoni, president of event sponsor the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (Eumabois).

“Eumabois is proud to support Woodshow 2008 and is expecting an increase of European exhibitors trying to offer the most sophisticated solution in the production of panels, furniture, housing, doors and windows and all the wooden products.”
