Timber engineering firm Wyckham Blackwell has manufactured more than 100 miles of Wolf Systems Ltd‘s easi-joist metal web flooring system since it become a supplier in 2004.

The completion of the milestone, equivalent to 18 times the height of Mt Everest, has coincided with Wyckham Blackwell doubling its easi-joist production capacity.

The Solihull-based firm has installed a second press at its facility, enabling it to produce between 2,500-3,500m of easi-joist a week according to director David Himmons.

“Builders are increasingly seeing the many benefits of the system and we anticipate it won’t be long before Wyckham Blackwell supplies its next 100 miles,” said Wolf managing director David Leaney.

Wolf recently announced that it was bringing the production of the metal web plates for easi-joist flooring in-house, as rising demand had made it more economical than importing them from Australia.
