Egger has cleared a key hurdle in its bid to construct a €40m glue plant at its chipboard factory in Radauti, Romania.
The company received an environmental permit for the plant, which will now allow it to apply for a construction permit.
Construction of the glue plant will take up to two years and, Egger says, will ensure the competitiveness and long-term viability of the €210m Radauti factory, which has a 600,000m³ raw chipboard capacity.
The site became operational in 2008 but has not yet run at full capacity.
