Building systems provider Eleco plc has increased its operational profits by 5.2% to £1.9m for the year ended June 30.
The company, which incorporates roof and truss systems provider Gang-Nail Systems, recorded turnover of £37.2m for the year – up 13% on the previous year. Operational profits for Eleco’s building systems division, which makes up 93% of group turnover, went up 27.8% to £3.34m.
Gang-Nail had an “excellent” year, driven principally by improved sales of metal webs for its Ecojoist flooring product. The number of Ecojoist licensed fabricators increased to 10 and the product gained technical approval from more national housebuilders.
Eleco’s technology division, which includes timber engineering software supplier Consultec UK (formerly MBA Computing), recorded an operating loss of £500,000, partly due to reorganisation and relocation costs.
