Twenty-eight elephants which have been trained to charge when they hear the sound of chain saws are decreasing illegal logging on the island of Sumatra.
The Nature Conservation Agency, which recruited the elephants for a trial programme a year ago, said most of the time the illegal loggers ran away when they saw an elephant coming straight at them.
