English Heritage is the latest organisation to sign up as a sponsor of The Wood Awards 2003.
It joins seven other major sponsors – the largest of which are the American Hardwood Export Council, the British Woodworking Federation, The Timber Trade Federation and wood. for good. Others include the Malaysian Timber Council and the Ghana Forestry Commission.
The Carpenters’ Company remains key sponsor and host to the awards. Clerk major general Paul Stevenson said: “It is very encouraging to see so many key players in the UK timber industry coming together to sponsor the Wood Awards which recognise and encourage outstanding design, craftsmanship and installation in joinery and structures in timber.”

Entries for the awards are open until May 20 and the shortlist will be published in June.
