The US Environmental Protection Agency has decided to allow the continued use of CCA for permanent wood foundation systems and agriculture fence posts.
The verdict comes after strong lobbying from the Southern Forest Products Association (SFPA), the Southeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association and the American Forest & Paper Association.
SFPA said the “significant” news favourably impacts wood product manufacturers, preservative suppliers, treaters and the wood foundation industry.
