Timber and wood based exports from Indonesia and Malaysia shot up during July, according to economic figures released by both countries.
Malaysian sawn log and timber exports to the EU leapt by 84.4% in July, helping the country to an overall trade surplus of M$4.05bn.
Indonesian exports rose to US$320m from US$294.1m in June, making timber the second highest grossing non-oil and gas export sector.
