The fourth in a series of short films about the economic and environmental benefits of using timber pallets and packaging has been released by the Timber Packaging and Pallet Confederation (Timcon).

The six-minute film aims to educate businesses in supply chains, including food, drinks and pharmaceuticals, about the advantages of using timber.

As well as discussing timber’s carbon storage ability and the lower price of the material, the film also asks specific questions about plastic alternatives, such as use of the fire retardant deca-bromine and environmental impact.

“We’ve made this film to present these indisputable facts clearly to those who benefit from using timber in their supply chains – and also to those who will benefit from supporting timber as the most economically viable and only truly sustainable choice,” said John Dye, TIMCON president.

TIMCON is encouraging its members to give the film to customers and stakeholders.
