Finnforest‘s internet trading channel clocked up £1m in sales in the first five months of 2003.
The figure was hit in the week beginning May 12 and was greeted as a “milestone” by the company’s UK sales director Nigel McKillop.
“We’re continually striving to offer customers up-to-date trading solutions and our fully integrated internet trading site and the level of sales we have received is proof that our industry is changing the way we order wood.”
The Finnforest system, developed with SAP UK, allows merchants to use a standard web browser to obtain live-time information on product availability, price, delivery and orders status, with real-time order processing and confirmation. The system also generates order history for planning and reordering .
“The flexibility and simplicity of the system gives customers the confidence to order product accurately and quickly and they can order at any time,” said Mr McKillop.
Finnforest has recently worked with SAP UK to upgrade the system and is running a series of launches around the UK to demonstrate its new capabilities to merchants.
